Train N721 from Guilin to Nanning

On Chinese New Year’s Day, Bruno and I took train from Guilin to Nanning, then we needed to take our train Nanning/Hanoi. Train N721from Guilin departed 13h27, 14 hours, RMB 65 for soft seat ticket.  I arrived Nanning at 18h20, pretty much the dinner time.  We were lucky to get a cab in the rush hour. 

Arrive at the Zhongshan Road, glad to find hundreds of food stands, just as it was described on other people’s blog, it was the place to eat!  Exactly we were looking for in Nanning….We eat dozens of different kinds of dimsum, hot BBQ with tasty seasonings, local dessert…

The next mornng we went to buy our train ticket to Hanoi.  The staffs on the station were quite nice to us. They gave us a pamphlet, it said that we could get our ticket also at Guilin and PingXiang.  The tickets we bought were soft sleeper, there are four bunks in a compartment which has a door for privacy. The price was 290 RMB. We found out there were cheaper tickets for Hard Sleeper, six narrow bunks to a compartment, food trolleys passed back and forth along the train, it was quite noisy…the ticket for hard sleeper was 181 RMB.

Nanning / Hanoi

Our train left Nanning at 18h15, arrived Hanoi at 7h00 next morning (13 hours en route). Checked the train schedule posted on the Hanoi station, the train Hanoi/Nanning leaves at 20h30, arrives Nanning at 10h05 next day.
