A Beach day in Beihai
Beihai is the nearest coast city to Guilin, and the beach in Beihai is the dream of summer vacation for every child. Last Saturday, I drove 600km, 7 hours on road, with my son, my mom to the beach, had a good time there.
Bruno, the 8-year-old boy in following pictures, was too happy to going back to the beach hotel. He prefered to stayed on the beach all day and night! We have both really enjoyed our stay here even though the weather hasnt been that great, sometimes it has been really cloudy, but we have been determined to get a tan so have still been to the beach every day and both made a mistake in thinking you didnt need sunlotion if it was cloudy.

After hanging out for 12 hours on the beach…in the morning when the sunburn was not so painful, in the afternoon digging in the sand for small crabs and oysters, in the evening lying in the sallow water, waiting for the big waves…it was awesome! We were so tired that we slept like babies every night.

Oysters and snails are the snack of choice at night. The trend snaked its way to the bustling beach restaurants of Yintan, mostly by word of mouth. We found appeal in the oyster´s knarled, rugged appearance. People liked to toss down a few dozen with their buddies after bar hopping. It seemed everyone we met was eating this unattractive seafood.
