Lhasa, Shoton Festival
Today is Aug.20, the Shoton Festival in Lhasa. My friend Jia told she had gone to Drepung Monastery, attened the Unfirling of Massive Buddha Tapastry. When talking, japped mountain surrounted by ever-changing clouds flowing in deep blue sky appeared to my eyes. Missing, the days in Lhasa, the sunny faces and a popular saying:” that if a Tibetan can talk, he can sing, if he can walk, he can dance.” This aptly described their lively and vibrant culture.
In Lhasa, when off duty, I love sitting in somewhere, enjoy soft wind, fregrant air, people’s smilling, my heart is like a bird flying up over the mountains to far, far away…
I wrote a poem when I was in Lhasa:
On the other side of the mountains

Shoton Festival
What can I see
On the other side of the mountains
White clouds,flowing in deep sky
like moving snows
Angle’s tears blowing down in lakes…
I’m looking forward
for the other side of the mountains
How I wish
to have a pair of wings
Flying in the clouds, over mountains, lakes…
How I wish!
But I heard their calling
from the sky
climbing,just climbing,my child
then you will see the way should be
I’m coming
climbing,just climbing…
towards the other side of the mountains
the road to my dream

Shoton Festival
Lovely description. Your poem is exquisite! I can’t wait to read more of your blogs. Jane
