Dimsum Day and Game of Go

Every Thursday, Bruno goes to his “Game of Go” class in the evening.  The Go School is in the downtown area of Guilin, lots of good local restaurants available.  Before the class, It is also the opportunity for Bruno to eat outside, the only chance to try something new rather than the home-made Mum’s Menu.

game of goBruno has to finish his homework at school before 18h30, and I have to get there before the rush hour…As usal, I have to write my comment on every page of his homework, to prove to his teachers that I am the responsible father, offering my supervision and help to my son per day…What a strange education system.

What is Bruno’s favorite for dinner tonight?  Let him to make his own choice this time.  “Try something sweet!”  He ordered Bannana ship, milkshake, strawberry juice, cakes…It is not something sweet, EVERYTHING is sweet…It is hard to keep the promise of a good father, democracy is not a good idea.

The Go class is from 19h30 to 21h00.   Bruno plays the game on a traditional, carved wooden board, with black and white stones made from slate and clamshell. Why do we ask Bruno to take the Go class? Go can teach concentration, balance, and discipline. Each person’s style of play reflects their personality, and can serve as a medium for self-reflection.
