Ramadan finished…
Today, Muslims all over the world finished their month-long fast for Ramadan. It was a long time for many Muslims traditionally refrained from food, drink, smoking, and sexual relations from dawn until the luna comes after sunset. Now, the “torture” finished today (on the mercy of Allah). For my old and lovely grandma, it is a time for enioy food and drink. She sufferred from hunger everyday during the fast month. She is old and sufferred two times fever from the Ramadan. Everyone in our family prayed her for quit the fasting, but my grandma said its our own religion and fasting is associated with atonement of sins. Fasting is really a strict concept for her. We love her so much.
I’m so regret that not many young people here have such steady belief of Muslim’s. Even myself, some daily activities has been changed.
I know in some countries, for example, in Malysia, observance of Ramadan is very strict for limited to the hours between sunset and sunrise; even all visitors during Ramadan are expected to observe this wherever they go, including public beaches and shopping malls. Travellers can only drink alcohol in their own rooms during their holiday there. Entertainment programmes are suspended during Ramadan, even in the evenings, and music can not be played anywhere during the day.
But anyway, it’s in China, a large country with a large numbers of minorities live together. Something always transferred. But the belief in heart.
By the way, this morning, in mosque, I focus on our delicious and various of Muslim’s foods when all the males read Mass in hall. Ermm…I think I should have a personal fasting in coming months…
