Guangzhou Huangpu Military Academy

 

Huangpu Military Academy is a key chinese culture relic as well as a popular tourist attraction in Guangzhou.

 

Huangpu Military Academy was a military academy that located on Changzhou Island, Huangpu. It was set up in 1924 by Sun Yat-sen with assistance from the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of China. In 1930, it moved to Nanjing.

 

The academy was set up in 1924 and officially open to the public on June in the same year, while the first lesson began on May 1st, 1924. The major building on the original site was destroyed in 1938 and repaired by the government after the founding of the People's Republic. Now it is an important historical relic that protect by the government.

 

The board building of the academy was rebuilt in 1996, with an area of 10,600 square meters. The main attractions of the academy include the front gate, the school board building, Premiere Sun Monument and his memorial chamber, the club, the swimming pool, cemetery of the martyrs died in the Eastern Expedition, Monument to the Northern Expedition, Jishen Park, Jiaosi Pavilion and so on.

 

there are also some picture exhibitions like History of the Military Academy, Historical Relics of the Eastern Expedition and the Sun Yat-sen's Revolutionary Activities in Guangdong.
