Beihai Transportation

As a growing tourist city in Guangxi Province as well as a transit port to Vietnam and Hainan Island , Beihai's transport facilities are being upgraded rapidly.

By plane: The Beihai Fucheng Airport is one of the three major civil airports in Guangxi , operating flights to more than a dozen cities. The airport lies 24 kilometres north of the city center with an airport shuttle bus service to and from the Air Plaza ( Minhang Dasha ). Buses leave 2 hours before flights at a price of RMB10 per person. A taxi ride to or from the city center will take half an hour and cost around RMB40.

By train: K140 heading for Chengdu leaves Beihai every afternoon at 14:28. The train stops at major cities in South China, such as Nanning , Liuzhou , Guiyang and Chongqing . By bus: There are long distance buses to cities in Guangxi, such as Nanning (2hrs), Liuzhou (5hrs) and Guilin (7hrs). There are several long-distance bus stations in Beihai, but the major one is the Long-distance Bus Station ( Chengdu qiche zongzhan ) on Beibuwan Lu .

By boat: Beihai serves as a transit port for tourists heading for Hainan Island . The ferry port is 2km west along the seafront on Haijiao Lu . There are ferries which leave daily for Haikou (11hrs) at about 18:00 from the sea transport terminal ( Haiyun zonggongsi matou ). Also a daily ferry to Weizhou Island leaves at this terminal around 8:00 daily and arrives at 10:30 (15:00/17:30 for the return trip).

To Weizhou Island : There are ferries also at the Haiyun Terminal on Dijiao Lu with a price of RMB62 for a return trip.

City transport: Taxies run for a flat rate of RMB10, regardless the distance. You can also take a pedicab for about 5RMB per trip.

Mount Qingxiu
Tianci Lake is the central scenic area on Qingxiu Hill. On its southern bank is a long corridor leading to Longxiang Pagoda on the top of the hill.
