Overview:Ethnic minorities in Yunnan account for about 34 percent of its total population. Major ethnic groups include Yi, Bai, Hani, Zhuang, Dai and Miao.
The Napahai Lake is located 8 kilometers northwest of Zhongdian. It is on the road from Zhongdian to Mount Meili, at an altitude of 3,266 meters above sea level.
The Napahai Lake has the largest grassland in Zhongdian, surrounded by mountains on three sides.
The nature reserve has a humid climate, flourishing grass, and beautiful scenery. Each year from September to March black-necked cranes, a top-grade protected bird species, winter here. This period is the best season for tourists to view black necked cranes.
Napaihai,ZhongdianNapha Lake Nature Preserve is a lake from July to September and an enormous meadow during the rest of the year. The surrounding hills are covered with a carpet of wild flowers in May and June. During the winter months, the rare black-neck crane makes the nature preserve its home.
