Tour Highlights

After the amazing challenge of Huangyaguan Great Wall Marathon, you will enjoy a splendid tour, plus Tibet, which is a mystical and mysterious city steeped in Tibetan and Buddest Culture. A good opportunity to view the natural scenery and plateau landscape on the train.

Day  1  Beijing  

Upon arrival at Beijing airport, you will be met by our English speaking tour guide and transferred to hotel. Free time for the rest of the day.

Day  2  Beijing   (B)

Great Wall Marathon Inspection Day for runners and spectators on May 19. Pikup from Beijing International Hotel at 05h30, drive 2.5 hours to Huangyaguan Great Wall. Race-entry-meeting from 08h15 to 08h45. Course inspection from 09h00 to 10h30: All runners must walk the 3.5km of the wall that is part of the Great Wall Marathon course to familiarize themselves with the route. After the inspection, 1 hour Lunch break(sandwiches, fruit and one drink). At 14h00, be transferred back to Beijing by coach. Leisure on your own at the rest of the day.

Day  3  Beijing   (B,L)

Beijing city tour at leisure on May 20. In the moring, visit TianAnMen Square and Forbidden City. In the afternoon, visit Hutongs by pedicab, stop at Shichahai Lake area include visit Prince Gong's Mansion and drum tower.

Day  4  Beijing  

Great Wall Marathon Day for runners and spectators on May 21. Pikup from Beijing International Hotel at 03h30, drive 2.5 hours to Huangyaguan Great Wall. Opening of the marathon (warm up, a short speech) from 06h15 to 07h30. All participants MUST BE ON SITE at 6h30. 5k starts at 07h15, Group 1 of Marathon and Half Marathon starts at 07h30, Group 2 of Marathon and Half Marathon starts at 07h40, 10k starts at 09h30. Lunch break(sandwiches, fruit and one drink) from 10h30 to 15h00. Busses start leaving for Beijing at 12:00 hrs, last bus leaves at 16:30 hrs. Leisure on your own at the rest of the day. At night, you might join in the Marathon Party of Gala dinner on your own expense.

Day  5  Beijing   (B,L)

Continue our city tours in Beijing.

Day  6  Beijing, Xian   (B,L)

Be transferred to Beijing airport for your morning flight to Xian. Pickup by our tour guide in Xian and start today's sightseeing tours. Optional activities: The famous night market near Drum Tower and Muslim Quarter is quite near your hotel, recommend you to take a walk at night. It is an area of interesting handicraft shops, muslim restaurants and vendors and narrow streets.

Day  7  Xian   (B,L)

Visit the Terracotta Warriors, Bell Tower and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Optional activities at night: Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. The best show in Xian is the show at the Tang Dynasty Theatre, it combines music and dance with exquisite traditional costumes in ancient times. Ask your tour guide and driver to wait the show finishs and take you back to your hotel. You need to pay for the ticket cost and extra hours of your tour guide and driver.

Day  8  Xian, Chengdu   (B,L)

After breakfast, we'll transfer to Xian airport for your morning flight to Chengdu. Be met at Chengdu airport by our English-speaking tour guide & transferred to take your visiting.

Day  9  Chengdu   (B,L)

In the moring, visit Panda Base in Chengdu. Drive 2 hours to Leshan,.we will transfer to have boat ride on MinJiang River to visit Giant Leshan Buddha. Enjoy the landscape of Chengdu Plain on the way. Afterwards we have the other half an hour drive to Mt. E'mei, visit the Nation Dedicating Temple (Baoguosi). Stay overnight in the hotel located at the foot of Mountain E'mei.

Day  10  Chengdu   (B,L)

Take the cable car up to the Mountain E'mei to visit the Wannian Temple, which is a very well known ancient temple of Mt. Emei. After pay the visit to Wannian temple, you might either go down the mountain for 3 hours by foot, or take cable car. Later in the afternoon we will drive back to Chengdu.

Day  11  Chengdu, Lhasa   (B)

After breakfast, transferred to Chengdu airport for the morning flight to Lhasa. Be met at Lhasa airport by our English-speaking tour guide & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the high latituder.

Day  12  Lhasa   (B,L)

The rush hour of Potala Palace is 10am, so we highly recommend to register and visit it in the early morning, otherwise you might only see the crowd. Plenty time to stay around the Jokhang Monastery and the Barkhor Street in the afternoon. In fact, if you visit the Ramoche Monastery nearby, you will find more local tea houses, market and civilan houses. This is the local portion of Lhasa.

Day  13  Lhasa   (B,L)

Visit the Tibet Museum and Sera, one of the most famous monasteries in Lhasa. A visit to the local Tibetan family is a happy memory. Please prepare some gifts for this family visit, such as candy or chocolate for kids.

Day  14  Lhasa   (B)

After breakfast, transferred to Lhasa railway station for the morning train to Beijing. Train No.: T28 (08:30/07:34 next day's morning), takes 47 hours and 4 minutes. Stay overnight on the train.

Day  15  Lhasa  

On the train. A good choice and opportunity to view the natural scenery and plateau landscape. It is said the landscape alongside the road is part of Tibet attractions.

Day  16  Beijing  

The train arrives at Beijing railway station at 7:34am, own arrangement for transfer to Downtown Beijing or Beijing airport. No service of tour guide or coach is included in the quotation. If you need extra transfer, please tell us.
