Tipping Policy in China

Shanghai – The Broadway Mansions (which I know I booked) was very very good. Beautiful room, good food, great service, and lovely view of the Bund. Naturally I know that it is a more costly hotel. Our guide and driver who collected us at the airport was very good. She even left us with her mobile in case we had any problems.

The first day we did the half day tour and were fortunate to be the only people doing a half day tour. Our guide and driver dropped us at the Museum and we walked back to our hotel.

The second day our tour was changed to Hangzhou. There were only five of us. It is a very long drive and I think I would probably not advise friends to spend all that time driving out and back just to see the lake.

The third day we did the other tour to Suzhou etc and that was very interesting and enjoyable. The guide we had that day was Susie and her English was the best of all our guides. She also had the largest group we had all trip -17. I noticed in Shanghai they have a Hop on Hop Off Tourist bus and I think that would be a good thing to recommend to other travelers. We have used them in other places in Europe and always found them excellent.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday and are very grateful to you for organizing it for us. We have given a few people your contact while we were away and I hope they get in touch with you so you get more business. Thank you again Regard
