Day  1  Kunming

Upon your arrival at the Kunming airport, you'll be picked up by our English speaking tour guide and drive to hotel. Free time for the rest of the day. Recommended are Kunming's landscape - Green Lake Park, the vibrant Flowers and Birds Market, and Kunming's symbol building - Golden Horse & Green Phoenix Archway.

Day  2  Kunming   (B,L)

Drive to Dongchuan from downtown Kunming after breakfast. Launch your colorful Dongchuan Red Land Tour after having lunch. Frist arrive at Yuepuao Hollow (Music Hollow) where the curves of the layers of the land take on a look of musical notation.  By the way, there is an several-hundred-year-old pine (called holy tree by the locals). It stands alone on top of the hill, watching the red lands like a loyal servant for ages.

Move on to Luoxiagou (Sunset Valley), the most beautiful scenery and the best for sunset glow. The lands here look like a sunken depression from distance. Together with other red lands, some lands grown with green crops make the view  unbelievable.

Continue shooting at Yueliang Tian (Moon Rice Field), which features the only terraces growing rice around this area. It looks like a smaller version of Yuanyang Rice Terraces. Both views of water-filled terraces in spring and golden yellow rice in autumn are photogenic. Back to the hotel in Dongchuan and stay overnight.

Day  3  Kunming   (B,L)

Get up early for the amazing sunrise view at Damakan Village. Standing at the highest photo-taking spot, you can see the village set in idyllic surroundings and bath itself in the sunlight.

Head for Qicaipo (Seven Colors Hill) and Jinxiuyuan (Splendid Garden) for vast expanding rolling hills and riot of colors and curves. The lands there show different colors in different seasons. You can shoot from afar or walk along the field ridge to take photos of the  peasants who are busy with cultivating or reaping crops on the red lands on fine days.

After lunch, drive to Huize and check in at the hotel. Enjoy your free time for the rest of the day around the Huize Old Town.

Day  4  Zhaotong   (B,L)

Drive to the Dahaicao Mountain (Sea Grass Mountain) after breakfast. The mountain is just like a fairyland that you can’t ever dream. Into your camera lens are the vast tableland pasture, blossom, streams, flocks, sapphire blue sky, etc. The scenery changes with the season. If you’re lucky enough, you can meet the incredible view of the Buddhist light.

Steer to Dashanbao, Zhaotong City in the afternoon. Check in and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day  5  Zhaotong   (B,L)

Start the photography job at the world’s biggest winter habitat, Dahaizi Wetland, for the valuable black-necked cranes. It’s super photogenic when the black-necked cranes sweep inside and out of the huge envelope of the rising sun.

Turn to Dashanbao to shoot the interesting folk houses and the locals. In the afternoon go on to Jigongshan Mountain (Rooster Mountain) for the sunset view. Melting with the shadow of the shepherds and their flocks, the sunset moments of Jigongshan Mountain is quite idyllic. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day  6  Kunming   (B)

Drive back to Kunming after breakfast. Enjoy the beautiful scenery all on the way in the 6-hour driving. See you off at the Kunming airport and wish you a good journey.
