    Heilongjiang in northeastern China has a unique geographic location and rich tourism resources, making it a tourist destination for all seasons. Its topography includes snow-capped mountains, forests, wetlands, grassland, a boundary river and a boundary lake.

Heilongjiang is subarctic in climate characterised by cool summwe and cold winter. Winters are long and frigid, with an average of −31 to −15°C in January, and summers are short and cool with an average of 18 to 23°C in July. The annual average rainfall is 500 to 600 mm, concentrated mostly in summer. Harbin the captial city, is famous for its moderate weather in summer and its wonderland of ice and snow in winter.

 

Heilongjiang climate

 

Heilongjiang's bone-chilling winter makes it one of the best ski resorts in China, the Yabuli Ski Resort. 

 

Heilongjiang features a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and very cold winters. Harbin's nickname of the "Ice City" is well-earned. Its winters are dry and brutally cold, with the average monthly high in January only reaching -13°C (9°F).

 

Harbin's winters are colder than other humid continental climate cities with notoriously cold winters such as Moscow, St. Petersburg and Montreal. However unlike these cities, Harbin sees little in the way of precipitation during the winter.

 

Harbin's summer is warm, with an average monthly high temperature in July of 28°C (82°F). July is also Heilongjiang's wettest month with an average of roughly 160 mm (6.3 in) of precipitation falling during that month.
