Day 1
Arrival / Lijiang
Arrive at Lijiang airport, pickup by our English speaking tour guide and transfer to hotel. Visit the old town of Lijiang, escorted tour to Square Street. At night, join in the singing competition party at the bank of ancient streams which wind through the town.

Day 2 (B, L, D )
Lijiang / Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge
Drive to Qiaotou town, trek to Tina's Inn in the middle Tiger Leaping Gorge.

At 6:00, drive to Qiaotou Town, it takes 2 hours on the trip.  Your hiking trip starts from here, the 28 zigzaging turns will be a real mission.   The total trekking route is 18 km, and it takes about 6 hours. You will arrive at Tina's Inn to finish today's trekking.  

The river in the gorge is only 17 kms long, but the trails on the mountains are different. You need to walk more distance than the river goes.

While you are walking in the gorge, because you only need to stay for one night in the simple hostel in the gorge, so please leave most of your luggages in Lijiang. Our driver will leave Qiaotou town when we start to trek.

What you need to carry:
2 days change clothes, two bottles of water, chocalate and camera are all you need to carry on the trip. If you need someone else to carry your extra luggage, a muel is the only available tool, the extra cost will be paid by yourself.

Day 3 (B, L, D )
Tiger Leaping Gorge 
Walk down the gorge to see the stormy Yangtze River for 2 hours, trek 16 kms for about 4 hours to Daju Town.

In the early morning, 1 hour walking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River, worship the dangerours shoal of "Starriness", it is the most narrow part of the gorge, where a tiger can easily jump over the Jinsha River. 1 more hour to climb up the gorge.

Today we will trek in the Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge, stop at Walnut Grove Village to have your lunch break, continue your trekking through trails for 2 km (about 1 hour) to a small ferry, cross the river by boat, climb up the cliff and see the beautiful Daju Town.  We will stop overnight at Daju Inn, in the small town of Daju.

Day 4 (B, L, )
Tiger Leaping Gorge / Lijiang
Drive to Lijiang, We will stop at Yak Meadow where a cable car visit to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is available. Trek for two hours through the trails on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Day 5 (B, L )
Lijiang / Depart
In the morning, walk around the old town of Lijiang, visit Mu Prince Mansion and Naxi ethnic civilian house.  

Later today, you will be transfer to airport for return flight.

Weather condition for trekking in Tiger Leaping Gorge
The raining season in Zhongdian, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lujiang and Lijiang is from late May to early September, roads might be blocked by mountain slide or falling rocks.  The best traveling time for our trekking tour is from October to April.

In case of bad weather condition or road difficulties, the original itinerary which has been confirmed by us might has to be changed. The leader for this treking tour is our local tour guide, sometimes even the whole trip could be cancelled eventually.   Please trust the judgement of our expienced tour guide, they are the expert and have escored trekking trips for years. Our safty is rely on them.

Meals mentioned in the trekking itinerary
"B" stands for American breakfast, "L" for Chinese Lunch in local restaurant. "D" for Chinese dinner in local restaurant. In some remote areas, only Chinese meals are best availble.
