Chuzhou

Chuzhou

Chuzhou City is located in eastern Anhui Province, neighboring Jiangsu Province. It has the Mt. Langya Nature Reserve and many places of interest in the southwest, and Mt. Huangpu, a state-level nature reserve- a home to rare species of animals and plant - in the west. Fengyang under Chuzhou is one of the four provincial-level ancient cultural cities in Anhui, and is the hometown of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

Mount Langya
Located southwest of Chuzhou City, Mt. Langya covers an area of 115 square kilometers, and is a national scenic spot, with dangerous and beautiful peaks, snaking mountain paths, dense forests, and splendid scenery. There are many springs, small lakes and caves. In addition, it is home to many species of animals and plants.

The most famous tourist attractions are Langya Temple, Zuiwong (Drunken-Man) Pavilion, and the South Heavenly Gate.

Mausoleum of Zhu Yuanzhang's Parents
Located 7.5 kilometers southwest of Fengyang County, the Mausoleum is one of the four large mausoleums of the Ming Dynasty in China, along with the Ancestral Mausoleum in Sixian, the Xiaoling Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty in Nanjing, and the Ming Tombs in Beijing. After 600 years of winds and rains, only a few parts are left, including stone sculptures. These vivid stone sculptures are the best example of the excellent skills of stone carving in the early Ming Dynasty. The Mausoleum is a major unit of relics under state protection.
