Xujiang Zumiao Temple
Xujiang Zumiao Temple, also called Hubao Zumiao Temple, is a key protection unit of historical and cultural relics of Guangdong province. Located at Hubao town of Sanshui, this Temple is only 30 miles away from the urban area of Sanshui. This Temple leans against Mount Longpo and faces Beijiang River. As a temple integrating Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism into one, it was originally built up during Jiading period of South Song Dinasty (1280 - 1228), therefore, it was well-known at home and abroad for its long history.

Among three temples the major temple--Beidi Temple is located at the center, Kwan-yin Temple at left side and Wenchang Temple at the right side. These temples have been expanded and reconstructed many times, with the last reconstruction as of 14th year of Guangxu period, Qing Dynasty (1888). After rough experiences, these temples were also decorated with beautiful pottery, wall paintings, woodcarving, brick carving, stone inscription, etc. Especially, the pottery statue of "two dragons playing one pearl" in Beidi Temple had a beautiful shape and brilliant appearance. Inside the Beidi Temple, there is an ancient well, called as "golden sand showering in holy moonlight", which was built by Fuan, a Buddhist. This temple has experienced some expansion and reconstruction, forming a large dimension and magnificent shape. Daxiong Temple is located at the front side, Liuzu Temple at the left side, and Dizang Temple at the right side, with a total occupying area of over 900 sq.m... The Buddhists had been exercised Wushu and diagnosed in all ages, thus making it once famous and prosperous far and near for its outstanding achievements.

However, most parts of the Temple were damaged by the flood in 1915 and subsequent chaos caused by war, and surviving temple also collapsed in 1938. The existing Huayou Temple was reconstructed in October 1994 according to the former temple and completed in May of next year.
The total area of Zumiao Park amounts to 99338 sq.m.. Coupled with ancient buildings of abundant artistic meanings, this Park is forested and adjacent to river, presenting a kind of beautiful scenery. Inside the Park, there are Zumiao fast room well-known for its vegetable noodle, Wangjiang booth overlooking surging Beijiang River, Mount Meng's Taipo blessing her sons, as well as Dayu Torii, Holy Light Illuminating Torii, Qingyunzhibu Torii, Yuemen Torii, Hundred Steps Ladder, etc, all of which are tourist attractions for enjoying the historical and cultural relics as well as blessing happiness.
