Foshan is located at the south center of Guangdong. In the past, Foshan was subordinate to Panyu County, Nanhai Prefecture, at the inland of Pearl River Delat, adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, convenient in water and land traffic. Foshan has vast territory and abundant resources, where the folkway is simple. The birth of heroes brings glory to a place. From the old, Foshan has been a land flowing with milk and honey and an open port.

Foshan features luxuriant land, mild temperature and adequate rainfall as well as evergreen landscape. It has a subtropical monsoon humid climate, with its average annual temperature of 22.1°C and rainfall of 1600-2000 mm.
In history, Foshan was a significant commodity distributing center in south China. Since reform and open up to the outside world, its trade has posted a booming development trend. At present, a range of commodity distribution networks have taken shape, which are spread all over town and country at various levels, and flooded with commodities in a varied fashion from domestic and overseas market channels.
Cultural heritages
Chancheng District boasts enormous changes and cultural heritages of 5000 years and numerous predecessors' inheritance, as well as endless stories and legends. Therefore, it is just like an abundant textbook.
There are many cultural relics in Chancheng District, of which Zumiao Temple was founded during Yuanfeng period of North Song Dynasty (1078-1085). This Temple is a state key protection unit of historical and cultural relics, and is recognized as the "Oriental Art's Palace" integrating pottery statue, woodcarving, brickcarving, foundry, architecture and Yue Opera. Nearly 1 million Sino-overseas tourists are attracted to travel there every year.
Shiwan's Nanfeng Ancient Furnace, founded during Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty (1506-1521) , has been kept in good condition due to endless production about 500 years. Therefore, it has been listed as a state key protection unit of historical and cultural relics for its rarity in China.
Foshan's Liangyuan Park is famous for its first rank of Four Famous Parks in Guangdong Province. After the completion of the first-round restoration, it has attracted many groups and tourists in an endless stream.
Beautiful landscape
Since time immemorial, Foshan has been famous for its numerous personalities and beautiful landscape. Among those include Liangchu, a premier in Ming Dynasty, Lun Wenxu, Number One Scholar in Ming Dynasty, Li Wenmao, a Yue Opera actor in Qing Dynasty, Chen Qiyuan, an ethnic capitalist in Qing Dynasty, Huang Feihong, a Wushu master in Qing Dynasty, Kang Youwei, a leader of modern bourgeois reform, Zhan Tianyou, designer of the first railway in China, Wu Jianren, a novelist in the late Qing Dynasty, Li Xiaolong, a Wushu star, Dengpei, one of the leaders in the labor movements, Wuqin, a hero during the War Against Japanese Intrusion as well as revolutionary martyr Cheng Tiejun, etc. Their native places and other remainders have attracted numerous descendents' condolence.
Folk-custom and folk festivals
At the same time, plenty of folk-custom and folk festivals in Chancheng District are famous far and near, such as Foshan's Autumn Scenery Festival, Shiwan's Pottery Art Festival, Shunde's Flower Expo, Nanhai and Sanshui's Dragon Boat Matches, Foshan's Lion Dance Match, etc, all of which are attractive to many visitors for their high quality.
And, a range of Foshan's traditional tourism craftworks and luxurious food, such as Shiwan Gongzai(i.e. an artistic pottery), Foshan Autumn Scenery, New year's Xylograph, Lamplight Decorations, paper-cuts as well as Foshan's Pot-stewed Pork Trotter, Shiwan's Rice Wine, Xijiao Cake, Daliang Bengsha, Shuangpi Milk and Manggong Cake, etc, are attracting domestic and overseas tourists in a continuous stream.
