Overview

Huizhou is situated on the upper middle reaches of the Dongjiang River in Northeast Guangdong. Being abundant with natural resources, especially minerals and forests, Heyuan is praised the "Treasure Land of Eastern Guangdong".

With a warm and humid climate all the year round, Heyuan is an ideal place for travelling in four seasons. Three are many fascinating scenes in Heyuan. A fountain said to be the tallest shooting in Asia, a National Forest Park in Xingfengjiang, Dagui Mountain and Wanlu Lake, etc.

Established in January of 1988, Heyan is one of the youngest cities in Guangdong, which covers an area of 15 800 sq km and has a population of 3.33 million. The cimate here is temperate with much of sunshine than the other cities, the annual average temperature is 22.3℃ and the rainfall amount is about 1800mm.

Tuocheng

Tuocheng is a historical city of Guangdong. There are many popular scenic spots, such as Huoshan and Shuikeng Scenic Area in Longchuan, the former residence of the ancestors of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Zijin, Neiguan Mountains, green rivers in Liangping and Huangdong Crag in Zhangxi of Dongyuan county. Local specialties are Kiwifruit, Jiulian mushrooms, Heyuan garlic, Hakka home-brewed liquor, Xinfengjiang mineral water, bamboo mats, sweet tangerines, green tea and clay pots.

Heyuan Museum

Heyuan city currently holds one of the world's most important dinosaur fossil repositories. The city's museum has the largest collection of dinosaur collection of dinosaur egg fossils, with over 10 000 in total recorded in Guinness World Records. Fossilized dinosaur eggs were first discovered at a construction site near the city. Since then, locals have helped increase the collection. Archaeologists have found 7 fossilized dinosaur skeletions and 168 fossilized dinosaur footprints.

Wanlu Lake

Wanlu Lake, one of the four major reservoirs in China, is near Heyuan city. The quality of the water can rank the first –class of the national standard.There are two waterfalls near the lake,
In addition, there is a national forest park and a provincial -level nature reserve, with more than 140 species of rare animals rest here.

Mount Guishan

Mount Guishan near the downtown is a new hotspot for Guangdong green eco-tourism. There are some newly setup scenic spots like Sujiawei Hakaka Circular Houses and Jinghuayuan Theme Park. A lot of fossil eggs and fossil skeletons of dinosaurs, and fossil chrysanthemums are found here.
