Qingyuan boasts of picturesque landscape and fresh air, with its environment composite index listed in the forefront in Guangdong. Qingyuan was only an ancient town in Qing Dynasty, and recognized as a city in 1988. With an urban population of about 545 9000, Qingyuan has been an important city as the gateway to Northern Guangzhou. It is only takes one hour to drive from Guangzhou to Qingyuan along the national highway No.106 and 107.

It has mild subtropical weather with a rich rainfall of 2 200mm annually, so forests and agriculture thrive here. Qingyuan is an important productive base of grain, timber and minerals. The city has made steady progress in urban construction, improvement of tourist facilities and star hotels, as well as industrial development. It has formed a system of local industries : knitting, clothing, chemical fiber, toy making, food processing, cosmetics and metallurgy.

Qingxin Holiday Resort

 

The resort situated in Sankeng Township, which is known as the Town of Hot Spring in Guangdong province. occupying an area of 5.6 square km, it consists of dozens of hot springs, large grass skiing hillsides, more than 30 football courts, lots of hotels and villas. The football Training Center is the largest in Asia.

Lianzhou Underground River

 

Lianzhou Underground River is one of the popular tourist attractions in Qingyuan, is found in a 3-km-long karst Cave eroded by underground water. For millions of years, a valley is formed in the Karst cave. Visitors can walk along the riverside deep into the cave, enjoying the wonder of nature. When reaching the end, they can come by boat.
