Liming

The karst formation in Liming is the biggest and the most mature one in the southwest of China.

It is a result of Himalaya's organic movement. With the effect of sunshine, wind blow and rain, these have appeared in the whole area cliffs, peaks and caves of various shades of red. All roads in this place are made of red sandstone collected here. Altogether they make a Red Stone Street that goes in north-south direction.

To the east of the town, there is a steep red cliff. In back street, there is a clean stream flowing gently with green trees on both sides of the bank. All these give us typical scenery of this red canyon. Interesting in the Liming is that the sun seems to like staying here.

Every year, two months around Winter Solstice, if you stand in the middle of the Red Stone Street, the overlapped vision of the three peaks in the distance would bring you a wonderful view that the sun seemed to rise and set three times respectively.
