Fangchenggang

Fangchenggang is one of the state's 14 coastal opening cities together with Beihai. It is situated in the southwestern tip of the coastal area of Guangxi in China, It borders on the coast of Beibu Gulf in the south and if 173 kms from Guangxi's capital, Nanning in the north, between both of which there is a railway line; it faces Beihai city across the gulp with a sea distance of 51 nauticle miles. Fangcheng Port district, the former Fangcheng nationalities Autonomous County, Shangsi County and Dongxing Development Zone are now nuder the jurisdiction of Fangcheng Port City with a total area of 6,216 square kms. And having a population of 704,000.

With natural shelter from wind, deep water and high tide, little deposit, short navigation and long uasble coastline, Fangcheng is planned as a whole to establish 115 berths above 10 thousand tons. Thus, she has the natural conditions of becoming an international reade port.

There are now 13 berths, 8 out of which being above 10-thoucand tons and Fangchenggangone berth above 30-thousand tons under construction. The wharf coastline is over 1,670 meters; the advanced telecommunication equipment's enable it to contact directly with the foreign and Chinese vessels sailing on the coast of China South and ports all over the country. The laser navigation safeguards the ships coming in and going out; machinery, maintenance equipment and water and electricity supply are being perfected.

The current banding capacity of Fangcheng Port is more than 5 million tons. it has been rated as one of the nineteen largest key ports in China.

 

 

Detian Waterfall
