Colorful lantern is also called lantern art

in Foshan, which is designed and made

by Foshan Folk Art Research Institute. This kind of lantern art is known as the Mainstream of Chinese traditional lantern arts, featuring exquisitely made and fine workmanship.

 

 

Foshan Lantern art is made from bamboo piece, iron wire and other materials. The lanterns are tied into different shapes, matched with the unique "Foshan Paper-cut " patterns.

 

 

Based on the tradition, the making of Foshan Lantern art has innovated and developed constantly, with richer and more colorful patterns and variety, walking towards plaza arts from the original interior arts, to scale combination from single work.

 

 

It has the features of traditional workmanship with novel modeling, exaggerated but realistic, exquisite and elegant, fine workmanship, bring-colored and beautiful in daytime, bright and magnificent in nighttime.

 

 

The artistic works of lantern are exhibited in foreign countries each year. Some of the fine works have been listed into the Genius World Record thrice.

In 1997, Foshan Lantern art showed the whole world the charms of Chinese traditional excellent cultures and arts more completely in Hong Kong.
