 Fangchenggang is one of the state's 14 coastal opening cities together with Beihai. It is situated in the southwestern tip of the coastal area of Guangxi in China, It borders on the coast of Beibu Gulf in the south and if 173 kms from Guangxi's capital, Nanning in the north, between both of which there is a railway line; it faces Beihai city across the gulp with a sea distance of 51 nauticle miles. The current banding capacity of Fangcheng Port is more than 5 million tons. it has been rated as one of the nineteen largest key ports in China.
